Digital Product Passport is getting closer

With the publication of the European Commission's new regulation on sustainable products, the digital product passport is one big step closer. With this digital product passport, every consumer, trading partner, government,… can access information on e.g. child labour and CO2 emissions, simply by scanning a unique product code. This passport is enabled by international and interoperable standards, like the GS1 standards. There is more to come, and GS1 will keep you informed about the upcoming Delegated Acts.

Results survey on standards in transport industry 

“Europe can still improve its interoperable and networked data exchange within supply and logistics chains.”
In a study conducted by GS1 as part of the European Federated Network of Information eXchange in LogistiX (FENIX), the majority of respondents from the European transport industry are in favour of digital standards.
This is seen as a prerequisite for making transport processes more transparent and thus more efficient.
